MPS2 - Orange label power supply repair.

 

Initial Inspection.

 

Power Supply has failed and RIFA caps have literally exploded.

 

Solution, replace all 4 RIFA caps.

 

0.22uF x 1

0.033uF x 1

4700pF x 2

 

Power supply is held together by approximately 12 small self tapping screws. It is possible to do all 4 RIFA caps without disconnecting any wiring inside the power supply.

 

Check fuses while you’re there.

 

If you can’t get RIFA caps? Other members’ have used mains XY caps of a similar rating without issue.
