I now know why I had 8 lamps missing when I used the RE loom. RD lights 1 row by using a feed off the white triac plug without this connection, you don't get a complete set of working lamps.

Currently half way through Phase 3

Phase 1 is complete - donor cab and glasses.

Phase 2 is complete - reel bands and ROMS.

Phase 3 is lamp looms and switches.

Phase 4 is testing

I'm getting a bit nervous now and I need to tread carefully on the next stage.

All the lamps are wired, both top and bottom glass and all the switch lamps.

Now here's the thing... If I wire it to a blue plug and I've made a mistake, I could damage an MPU.

So I've been thinking of testing my work before going any further.

If I gather the drives and enables, I should be able to test each lamp anywhere on the matrix by powering each with a 12v supply. I should also be able to meter each drive and enable to ensure I have no shorts. I should also be able to see any lamp issues caused by incorrectly wired diodes.

I think I need to do this before I plug it in for real. There are a great many connections, I can't imagine I got every single one right.

If things go well tonight, we could see the machine in attract?

I still need to sort the meter loom and then I'm going to wire the switches. Still quite a bit to do, but it is moving forward.

After finishing the lamp loom last night, I had a minor set back. The lamps were all over the place when powered.  did some checks on my wiring and it wasn't causing the problem. So I went back and looked at the blue lamp plug.

The bottom line is that the numbers on the back of the plug could be for either pin. I had started off at what I believed was pin 1 and then after 2 or 3 connections, I decided I was doing it wrong and moved everything on 1 pin. Mistake!

In desperation I had to look at the schematic which is not very easy to follow. Anyway after some emails and some faffing about with the meter, I realised I had it all 1 pin out.

If I hadn't been 1 pin out, it would have worked first time as all my lamp connections are spot on. (Although there were some near misses when I was wiring it. The key is labelling, every wire must be labelled and you need to take it slow and be patient)

You will notice F1 and Respin don't light, that's because they are synced to 0v off W14 on the white triac plug which isn't connected yet.
